Various manufacturers offer aroma sets (aroma cases) with the typical smells of a wine. With these, you can practise learning to identify the individual aromas of wine and other alcoholic beverages. The prerequisite is that you play through this intensively and consciously store the individual smells in your olfactory memory. One of the best-known products is "Le Nez du Vin" (The Nose of Wine), which was developed by the well-known sommelier trainer Jean Lenoir. This contains the aromas of the great French and international red and white wines. There is a white wine aroma set (12 aromas), a red wine aroma set (12 aromas), a faulty aroma set (with the 12 most well-known wine faults) and a comprehensive combination set (54 aromas). Each aroma is described in detail.
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
