The winery is located in the cadastral district of Stammersdorf in the 21st district of Floridsdorf in the north of the Austrian capital Wien. The winery, which is rich in tradition and around 100 years old, was run purely as a wine tavern until the 1980s, when Fritz Wieninger Jr. took over the management of wine production. In 2005, a new production building was put into operation in a historic building. The vineyards cover 40 hectares; the vineyards are located on the slopes of the Bisamberg in the south and south-east of the Großlage in the vineyards Breiten, Gabrissen, Herrenholz, Jungenberg, Rothen and Wiesthalen, mainly on sandy, loamy and lime-rich loess soils.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
