The Riede is located in the Stammersdorf municipality in the 21st district of Floridsdorf in the south of the Austrian capital Wien. It is the highest vineyard in the Großlage Bisamberg-Wien. The vineyard was classified as 1 ÖTW (Erste Lage of Austria's traditional vine yards) by the Winzervereinigung WienWein. The southeast-facing vineyards, with slopes ranging from 0 to 19 degrees, are located at 220 to 307 metres above sea level and cover a total of 22 hectares of vineyards on clay soils interspersed with minerals. The typical varieties of the Viennese Gemischter Satz are cultivated here. The Christ Rainer, Nössing Manuel and Wieninger wineries, for example, have shares in the vineyard.
