Classified as an appellation and cru in 2005 in the Département of Drôme in the southern section of the Rhône wine-growing region. Prior to its elevation, it was one of the communes in the Côtes du Rhône-Villages area authorised to add its name. The vineyards cover 1,400 hectares of vines on stony sand and marl soils. The area is only for red wines, which are mainly blended from the Grenache Noir (Garnacha Tinta), Syrah and Mourvèdre (Monastrell) varieties. Well-known producers are Domaine de Ausellons, Domaine du Coriançon, Domaine de Deurre, Domaine de Moulin and Famille Perrin.
