The winery is located in the municipality of Manubach in the German wine-growing region of the Middle Rhine. It was founded in 2001 by the Danish couple Vivi Hasse and Lars Dalgaard and is run as a sideline business. Vivi Hasse is an architect in her main profession and also designed the house "Villa Riesling", Lars Dalgaard is an executive at Deutsche Telekom. The high quality philosophy is based on low yields (less than 50 hl/ha), whole cluster pressing and slow cold fermentation. The vineyards cover only 0.8 hectares in the Mönchwingert (Manubach) and Fürstenberg (Oberdiebach) sites. They are 100% planted with Riesling, the vines are on average 50 years old. A good portion is vinified as Spätlese dry/semi-dry; 5,000 bottles are produced annually.
