Tortosina

The white grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are Bobal Blanco, Nave, Plant Rico, Plant X, Ricoville and Tortosí (2nd main name). According to DNA analyses carried out in 2021, it originates from a presumably natural cross between an unknown parent variety x Valenci (Beba). Nothing is known about possible genetic relationships with the red Bobal or the white Alcañón (synonym Bobal Blanca). The variety is cultivated in the DO area of Valencia. In 2016, 325 hectares of vineyards were reported with a strong downward trend (Kym Anderson statistics).
