Tegernseerhof

The winery is located in the community of Unterloiben near Dürnstein in the Lower Austrian wine growing region Wachau. The history goes back more than a thousand years, when Emperor Heinrich II (973-1024) donated "zwei Huben Land" to the Benedictine monastery of Tegernsee. In 1176 the Tegernseerhof was reached, which then served as a reading yard for centuries. In the Weingartenbüchl zu Tegernsee the farm with its vineyards is first mentioned in 1427. At the beginning of the 19th century, the farm passed to the Austrian Empire and became private property decades later. The estate was taken over by Franz and Mathilde Mittelbach in the 1970s. Today the farm is run by son Martin
