The "Winzerhof Stift" is located in the municipality of Röschitz south of Retz in the west of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. It is run by Franz and Regina Stift. Also worth mentioning is the beautiful courtyard of the winery, which exudes a Mediterranean flair. Wine connoisseurs and music lovers populate it on special occasions; the annual jazz evenings at the Winzerhof have long since made a name for themselves. The popular Austrian television series "Julia" was also filmed at the Winzerhof. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards on the southern slopes of the Manhartsberg in the Galgenberg, Mühlberg and Reipersberg vineyards on primary rock and loess soils. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay and Gelber Muskateller account for 85% of the vineyards, and the red wine varieties Blauer Portugieser, Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon for 15%. The premium wines include, for example, Weinviertel DAC vom Urgestein (Grüner Veltliner), Grüner Veltliner Methusalem, Grüner Veltliner Galgenberg and Riesling vom Urgestein. Noble brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Weingüter Retzer Land.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
