The winegrowers' association "Weingüter Retzer Land" is a quality association of top winegrowers in the western Weinviertel in Lower Austria. It emerged from the former "Collegium Vini Cultorum" association. The wineries are located in the six municipalities of Hardegg, Schrattenthal, Pulkau, Retz, Unterretzbach and Zellerndorf. The association has around 30 members who are committed to high wine quality and are constantly improving it. In addition, internal training courses and specialist workshops are held regularly to provide members with further training.
The aim is to establish the Retzer Land wineries as a quality brand and to position them at the top of the Austrian winegrowing scene. In order to guarantee the quality of the wines, they are regularly subjected to a strict selection process. This takes place in several stages: Firstly, internal blind tastings are held among the members. The wines are then assessed by recognised expert judges. Only the best products are presented at national and international competitions such as the Salon Österreichischer Wein. This ensures that only high-quality wines are marketed under the "Weingüter Retzer Land" label.
