One of the five wine-growing regions in California (also Southern Area). The region, which is less important in terms of viticulture, is located between the two cities of Los Angeles in the north and San Diego on the border with Mexico in the south. It includes the subtropical counties south of the Tehachapi Mountains with the highest peak Double Mountain at 2433 meters. The hot climate is tempered by its proximity to the Pacific coast. There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
