Soldaia

The white grape variety originates from Ukraine. It is named after an old name of the city of Sudak in the Crimea. Synonyms are SD-56 and Soldaiya. The parentage is unknown. In Crimea, it is used as a blend in fortified wines, for example from the Solnechnaya Dolina (Sun Valley) winery. It is also used as table grape. No stock was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
