The red grape variety originates from Georgia. Synonyms are Bluewood, Chaco Kapistoni, Chavkapito, Chaw Gobito, Lurdjpotola, Lurjpotola, Savkapito, Sciavkapita, Sciavkapito, Shavi Kapito and Shaw Kapito. The parentage is unknown. The medium-maturing, low-yielding vine is sensitive to wetness. It yields red wines with plum aroma and smoky note. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
