The winery is located in the commune of Schengen-Wintrange in the southern Moselle valley of Luxembourg. The wine-growing activities of the traditional family business date back to 1714. Since 2003, it has been managed in the seventh generation by Frank Schumacher (Geisenheim oenologist) and his sister Martine (business economist). The vineyards cover eight hectares of vines on deep keuper soils almost exclusively in the Grand Cru location Wintranger Felsberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling (29%), Rivaner (29%), Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Elbling, Auxerrois and Gewürztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and St. Laurent. In 1965 the domain of the notary Constant Knepper from Remich was taken over. The wines are still marketed today with the original bottle equipment. They are cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way. Great importance is attached to hand-picked, healthy grapes. The wines are matured in a traditional way with the best possible technology in stainless steel, typical for the variety and location. Specialities are late vintages from Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, Pinot Gris and Riesling.
