The "Primum Familiae Vini" association is a select group of family wineries. The idea was conceived in 1990 by wine legends Miguel Torres (*1941) and Robert Drouhin, and the association was founded in 1993. The international association of the "First families of wine" is limited to 12 members. Each family owns vineyards, is one of the most prestigious wine producers in its region and produces wines of international renown.
At the annual general meeting, one member is elected as president to represent the association at events around the world. The annual rotation is intended to ensure a continuously renewed vision. The last presidents were Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta (Tenuta San Guido) in 2021, Pablo Álvarez (Vega Sicilia) in 2022, Véronique Drouhin in 2023, Charles Symington in 2024 and Prince Robert of Luxembourg (Domaine Clarence Dillon) in 2025.
