The winery is located east of the municipality of Montalcino in the district of Val di Cava del Brunello in the Italian region of Tuscany. It was founded in 1993 by Claudio Nardi and his wife Graziella. Since 2007, daughter Elena has been responsible for sales. The vineyards in the local areas of Montalcino and Castelnuovo dell'Abate cover about five hectares and are exclusively planted with the Sangiovese variety. No grapes are purchased. In the vineyard and cellar traditional methods are used. Only the DOC wines Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino are produced. The wines are fermented in steel tanks. The Brunello matures for six to eight months in 20 to 30 hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels and six to eight months in the bottle. The Rosso matures for eight months in five hectolitre French oak barrels and at least six months in the bottle.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
