The winery is located in the municipality of Manzanares (province of Ciudad Real) in the Spanish region of Castilla-La Mancha. The estate was first mentioned in documents in 1854. The name of the farm at that time is derived from a former owner named Gervasio Blanco. After changing hands several times, the estate was finally acquired by the Sánchez-Contreras family in 2002 and the vineyards were expanded. Today it is managed by Joaquín Sánchez García. The company is certified according to the international ISO 9001 standard (quality management) and the entire production process from the vineyard to the cellar is carried out according to these standards.
