The winery is located near the city of Zaragoza in the DO area Cariñena in the Spanish region of Aragon. It was founded in the 1980s by the Ramón Reula family under the name "Finca Ayles". It united a number of plots of land which, in the Middle Ages, were part of a 3,300 hectare agricultural estate. In the past, the wines were produced under different labels: Finca Ayles, Bodegas Aylés and Señorío de Aylés. In 2010, the fully owned Ayles vineyard was classified as Vino de Pago (highest Spanish wine quality level, Grand Cru by sense) and therefore the name of the winery was changed. A new winery building was inaugurated in 2000. Inmaculada Ramón Reula of the family is responsible for the production and Ana Ramón Reula for the quality management.
