Outcrossing rate

In the vine, both self-pollination or self-fertilisation (fertilisation by pollen from one's own flower or between two flowers of the same plant) and cross-fertilisation (by pollen from other plants) are possible, with self-fertilisation clearly predominating. The cross-pollination rate is the proportion of seeds that are the result of cross-pollination. See also under breeding and hermaphrodite flowering.
