Niederberg-Helden

single vineyard in the municipality of Lieser (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. It was created by merging the formerly separate Niederberg and Helden vineyards. Since 2003, the Süßenberg site has also been included. The south to southwest facing vineyards at 120 to 240 metres above sea level with a slope of 60 to 75% cover 25 hectares of vineyards. The Devonian slate weathered soils have a high percentage of fine soil. The core area is somewhat rounded and thus forms a sheltered heat sink. The climate favours noble sweet wines. Riesling is mainly cultivated here. Shares in the site are held, for example, by the Hubertushof, Pauly Rudolf, Schloss Lieser and Wwe. Dr. H. Thanisch Erben Müller-Burggraef wineries.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
