single vineyard in the municipality of Lieser (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. It was created by merging the formerly separate Niederberg and Helden vineyards. The Süßenberg site has also been included since 2003. The south to south-west facing vineyards at 110 to 190 metres above sea level with a slope of 60 to 80% cover 34 hectares of vines. The Devonian slate weathered soils have a high proportion of fine earth. The core of the vineyard is slightly rounded and thus forms a protected heat reservoir. The climate favours noble sweet wines. Mainly Riesling is cultivated here. The Hubertushof, Pauly Rudolf, Schloss Lieser and Wwe. Dr H. Thanisch Erben Müller-Burggraef wineries, for example, have shares in the site.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
