The "Kellerei Nals Margreid" is located in Nals in the Italian wine-growing area of South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige region). It was founded in 1985 through the merger of the two traditional wineries Nals (1932) and Margreid-Entiklar (1954). Today 140 winegrowers along the South Tyrolean Wine Road cultivate about 150 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 200 to 900 metres above sea level. Gottfried Pollinger is the sales manager, Harald Schraffl the cellar master. The vineyards are carefully tended by hand in a natural, sustainable manner. Pests and diseases are preferably controlled with ecological means. The grapes are grown on classic pergolas and modern wire frames. The white wine varieties Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Müller-Thurgau, Moscato Giallo (Gold Muscatel), Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Vernatsch, Lagrein, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated and processed.
