The red grape variety is a new variety between Cabernet Sauvignon x Mourvèdre (Monastrell). Synonyms are Blue Corsican, Negre, Négrette, Pino Fleri and Raisin de Corse. The cross was made in France in 1827 by a grower named Hartwin. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
