The winery "Bodegas y Viñedos Monteabellón" is located in the municipality of Nava de Roa (province of Burgos) in the northern Spanish region of Castilla y León. The Garcia Aparicio family has been cultivating vineyards in the DO area Ribera del Duero for generations; the grapes have been sold to wholesalers. The company in question was founded in 2000 with the aim of taking the company to the top of the region in terms of quality. For this purpose, a new bodega with the most modern cellar technology was put into operation this year. The company is managed by Juan Manuel García Aparicio. Since 2005, Isaac Fernandez has been working as a consultant oenologist, who has worked in the well-known Vega Sicilia winery and in an advisory capacity at Bodegas Mauro. Finally, in 2008 additional vineyards were acquired in the two DO areas Rueda and Rioja Alta.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
