This red grape variety comes from Spain. Its parentage is unknown; it is possibly a variety or mutation of the Maturana Tinta (Trousseau Noir) variety. The variety has been approved for Rioja since the 2007 vintage. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
