The white grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are Malvasia Cândida Roxa, Malvasía Rosada and Malvasia Roxa. It is a somatic mutation with reddish berries of the white variety Malvasia di Lipari. It is grown in small quantities in Portugal in the Norte region. In 2016, three hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
