Item (single vineyard Germany)

single vineyard in the municipality of Bacharach (Loreley area) in the German wine-growing region of the Middle Rhine. The name was first mentioned in 1408. It derives either from a watchtower that still exists in the old town wall or from an exposed rocky outcrop. The vineyard, which faces south to southeast at an altitude of 150 to 230 metres above sea level with a slope of 15 to 65%, covers four hectares of vineyards. The single vineyard Wolfshöhle adjoins to the west. The soil consists mainly of weathered Devonian slate with minor sandstone inclusions. The Riesling variety is mainly cultivated here. The two wineries Bastian Friedrich and Ratzenberger, for example, have shares in the site.
