The winery is located in the municipality of Bacharach (Loreley area) in the German wine-growing region of the Middle Rhine. The winery is run by the third generation of the family, Jochen Ratzenberger junior. Holiday flats are also rented out. The vineyards cover 22 hectares in the single vineyard sites Kloster Fürstental, Posten and Wolfshöhle (Bacharach), Fürstenberg (Oberdiebach) and St. Jost (Steeg). The majority of the vineyards are planted with Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Rivaner.

Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is practised. The wines are produced according to the VDP classification model. Sweet and noble sweet Prädikat wines are a speciality. Bottle-fermented Riesling sparkling wines are also produced. The products are exported to Belgium, Switzerland and the USA (UN New York). The winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).
