The "Wein-und Sektgut Heinz Bus & Sohn" is located in the municipality of Insheim (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The history of this traditional family business dates back to the late 16th century. Today it is run by Carsten Bus, the 7th generation. The vineyards cover 40 hectares in the single vineyard Schäfergarten (Insheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus and Ortega, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The environmentally friendly cultivation is done in a traditional way. The ecological balance is promoted by greening the slopes. The yield-reduced grapes are gently pressed, followed by slow fermentation with natural yeasts. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are matured in steel tanks, wooden barrels or in barriques. The base wines intended for sparkling wine processing are stored on the yeast for up to 24 months after fermentation in the bottle. These are, for example, Pinot Blanc, Dornfelder and Riesling. A "Bussecco" (sparkling wine) is also produced.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
