Grape press

A common term in the Rheingau(Germany) for the morning autumn fog that often occurs near the river and often only dissipates in the late morning. These provide protection from early frost and favour the botrytis (noble rot) required for sweet wines such as Trockenbeerenauslese. See also under grape cooker.
