The "German Wine Fund" was founded in 1961 as an institution under public law. Together with the DWI (German Wine Institute), the organisation was based at the "Haus des Deutschen Weines" in Mainz. In Aril 2016, both moved into an office building in the municipality of Bodenheim, whereby the address was changed to "Platz des Weines 2".
