Flavour statement

As a rule, this is understood to be the designation for the content of residual sugar or the degree of sweetness of a wine (dry to sweet). Within the EU, the residual sugar values are defined uniformly (in g/l), but the indication on the label is not prescribed, at least for still wine. In Austria this is mandatory. For sparkling wine, the indication on the label is mandatory for all EU countries. There are different designations for the individual degrees of sweetness depending on the national language and also the type of wine (still wine and sparkling wine).
