The zone covers the entire two provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo, with the exception of the valley bottoms and sites at more than 700 metres above sea level. The Falerio is blended from Trebbiano Toscano (20-50%), Passerina (10-30%), as well as other authorised varieties (max. 20%). The pure variety Falerio Pecorino must contain at least 85% pecorino, up to 15% other approved varieties can be used.
