The winery is located in the municipality of Kardaun (Cardano) on the eastern edge of the Bolzano basin at 285 m above sea level in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol (Trentino-Alto Adige). The entire winery is surrounded by a water wall dating back to 1779, which protects against dangerous floods. The farm is dedicated to the cultivation of pearls with a high number of vines per hectare coupled with low yields by thinning out and dividing up to 60% of the grapes. The natural, gentle vineyard care is based on the principle of producing high-quality grapes. The use of artificial fertilizers and chemical weedkillers is avoided. The vineyards are not completely cleared, but only partly supplemented by young cuttings in order to achieve a high vine age.
