French term (half) for alcoholic drinks (mainly champagne but also wine) with a nominal volume of 0.375 litres, which corresponds to half of a 0.75 litre bottle (demi-bouteille). In France, however, this is also common for a glass of beer (half a litre). In Switzerland, this type of bottle is known as a three-eighths and in Austria as a Stifterl.
