Comics

Besides the countless literature about wine, there are also comics on the subject. In 1988 the comic "Karl", created by Eberhard and Patrick Kunkel (text) and Michael Apitz (illustration), was first published. It tells funny adventures with a historical background about wine. The first volume is titled "Der Spätlesereiter" and is about the famous "invention" of the late harvest in the Rheingau. The second volume is called "The barrel of the Cistercians". The Japanese artist Kenshi Hirokane created his own manga series (manga = Japanese for comics) around the world of wine.
