The winery is located in the small community of Montels, north of the town of Gaillac (Tarn department) in southwest France. It was founded in 2000 by Lucien Schmitt. The vineyards cover 26 hectares around the winery in the gently hilly Gaillac appellation. The typical grape varieties of the region are cultivated. These are the red wine varieties Braucol (Fer), Duras, Gamay and Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Len de l'El, Mauzac Blanc and Muscadelle. Since 2008, the vineyard has been managed according to the rules of organic viticulture. The farm was certified organic by ECOCERT in 2014.
