The winery is located in the municipality of Montecchia di Crosara in the province of Verona in the Italian region of Veneto. Its origins date back to 1900, when Amedeo Tessari leased an osteria. After the initial start with wine sales, winegrowing was also begun. After an eventful history, the first wines were marketed in 1986 under the name Ca' Rugate, derived from the hills north of Brognoligo. Today, the winery is run by Michele Tessari, who is also responsible for the cellar technology together with Giovanni Tessari.
The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vines in Montecchia di Crosara and Monteforte d'Alpone. They are planted with the white wine varieties Durella and Garganega, as well as the red wine varieties Corvina Veronese, Molinara, Rondinella, Corvinone and Trebbiano di Soave (Verdicchio Bianco). The product range includes various DOC/DOCG wines such as Amarone della Valpolicella, Recioto di Soave, Soave Classico and Valpolicella. Grappa is also produced.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
