The winery is located in the municipality of Bolgheri in the central west of the Italian region of Tuscany. The name means "house of endless negotiations" in Piedmontese dialect, and it took a total of 18 rounds to complete the purchase by the Gaja family. After the purchase, which was completed in 1996, the winery was completely rebuilt within six years and designed according to the most modern aspects. The special thing about it is that from year to year the winery always connects with its surroundings and is now "invisible". The buildings were constructed underground in a deep pit. Today the winery is considered an architectural object of art.
The red wine varieties Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, as well as the white wine varieties Viognier, Fiano and Vermentino are cultivated. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in stainless steel tanks and/or barriques. The product range includes the two IGP Tuscany wines "Vistamare" (white) and "Promis" (red), as well as the two DOP Bolgheri red wines "Magari" and "Camarcanda".
