The vineyard "Estate Biblia Chora" is located in the small village of Kokkinochori directly on the Aegean Sea, near the trading town of Kavala on the foothills of the Pangeon mountain range in Macedonia (Northern Greece). It is named after the traditional name for the region between the ancient Amfipolis and Kavala, in the centre of which it lies. It was here that the famous "Biblinos Oinos" (Biblinos wine) was produced from the grape variety of the same name in ancient times. The farm was founded in 2001 by the Greeks Evangelos Gerovassiliou and Vassilis Tsaktsarlis after several years of preparation. Gerovassiliou studied agricultural sciences in Thessaloniki and oenology in Bordeaux. He then worked as an oenologist at Domaine Carras and the family estate. Tsaktsarlis studied chemistry in Thessaloniki and then oenology and viticulture in Bordeaux. He then worked as an oenologist at Domaine Carras, Boutari and Domaine Costa Lazaridi. The winery building is built in the style of a château in Bordeaux.
