The red grape variety (also Girò del Mandrolisai) comes from Italy. It is possible that there is a genetic relationship with the Girò variety, but the origin (parentage) is unknown. It is cultivated on the island of Sardinia in the Mandrolisai area. In 2016, however, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
