The winegrowers' cooperative with its headquarters in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the German wine-growing region of Ahr was formed in 1970 through the merger of the two cooperatives Winzerverein Dernau and Weinbauverein, both founded in 1873. Subsequently, the winegrowers' associations of Bachem, Bad Neuenahr, Heimersheim and Rech joined. In 1981, the company moved into new premises in Bad Neuenahr. Since 1993, the company has been operating under the name "Ahr Winzer eG". The managing director is Friedhelm Nelles, the cellar master is Günter Schüller. More than 600 members cultivate around 155 hectares of vineyards in the communities of Ahrweiler (single vineyards Rosenthal, Silberberg), Bachem (Sonnenschein), Bad Neuenahr, Dernau (Burggarten, Hardtberg, Pfarrwingert), Marienthal, Heimersheim (Burggarten, Kapellenberg), Rech and Walporzheim (Kräuterberg).
