The winery is located in the municipality of Flein (area Württembergisch Unterland) in the German wine-growing region Württemberg. It was founded in 1990, but the ancestors of the owners had been cultivating vineyards for several generations and delivered the grapes to the local cooperative. The original name is derived from the fact that a chicken farm was operated here in the 1950s. It has a restaurant, inn, banquet and seminar rooms and 40 comfortable rooms. The farm is owned by Schick GmbH. Since the 2010 vintage, cellarmaster Martin Bauer has been responsible for the estate wines. The vineyards cover 6.6 hectares, 75% of which are planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Lemberger, Trollinger, Pinot Noir, Samtrot, Acolon, Cabernet Cubin and Cabernet Dorsa, and 25% with the white wine varieties Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. The soil and vines are cultivated ecologically. The grapes, which are harvested by hand, are carefully and carefully cultivated in a traditional way with the aim of producing wines that are typical of their variety, vintage and terroir. The red wines mature after the classic mash fermentation in large wooden barrels. We also produce bottle-fermented winegrower's sparkling wine, noble brandies (marc, wine, fruit), liqueurs and grape juices.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
