Wine architecture refers to the design of above and below ground structures that serve the production (for example, wine cellar) and presentation of wines (for example, wine shop). In addition to the functional aspect, there is also an aesthetic-design aspect that has led to the creation of magnificent buildings. These include traditional castle-like buildings (Château) such as those along the Loire or in the Bordeaux region, as well as high-tech production facilities in Spain, in the New World (Australia, USA) and in China. This interaction between function and form has always unleashed creative imagination for builders and architects. Even smaller businesses have implemented impressive structural changes due to new ownership, customer demands, or production conditions.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
