The winery is located in the municipality of Niederhorbach (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. It was founded in 1832 and is now run by Eckhard and Christine Walter, the fifth generation of the Walter family. The businesses "WeinHotel" and "WeinRestaurant" as well as holiday flats are attached. The vineyards cover 65 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard Silberberg (Niederhorbach). The white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Blanc and Muscat, as well as the red wine varieties Dornfelder, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc are cultivated. For quality reasons, the vines are trained in the flat arch system. All vineyards are cultivated according to current, environmentally friendly methods. Intensive work is done in summer and winter with cover crop.
