The winery is located in the community of Apetlon in the middle of the Lange Lacke nature reserve in the Burgenland wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee (Austria). It is managed by Heinz Velich. The vineyards comprise ten hectares of vineyards, which are exclusively planted with white wine varieties. These are Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Muskat-Ottonel, Neuburger, Pinot Gris and Bouvier. Great importance is attached to high maturity of the grapes and regional character of the wines. About one third of the production are sweet wines, which are mostly aged in barriques. The flagship of the house is the "Chardonnay Tiglat", vinified since 1990, which undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged in French barriques. The name is a dialectal expression for fat, teal-bearing rock. Further premium wines are "Chardonnay Darscho" and the cuvée "TO" (ung. for lake) from the varieties Chardonnay, Welschriesling and Sauvignon Blanc. About 50,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Renommierte Weingüter Burgenland.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
