The Winegrowers' Association was founded in Eisenstadt
(Burgenland, Austria) in 1995 on the initiative of the Austrian winegrowing pioneer Anton Kollwentz
(Großhöflein), who was also the first president. Since 2006, LRaD Paul Rittsteuer has been president of the association and is also an associate member. The member companies have dedicated themselves entirely to quality-oriented viticulture. The RWB stands for innovation as well as for know-how transfer and represents a marketing community in addition to a professional one. In addition to the quality of Burgenland wine, the focus is on the comprehensive cultivation of the Burgenland winegrowing tradition, the preservation of the importance of wine culture for social life and the constant improvement of the international reputation of wines from Burgenland
. The declared aim is to continuously strengthen the status and reputation of the Burgenland Wine Region in national and international contexts of the wine industry and professional circles.
