The winery "Familie Johann Schwertführer" is located in the municipality of Sooß (Hauptstraße 35) in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Thermenregion. Winegrowing has been practised in the family for six generations. Father Leopold has handed over the management to his son Johann. A wine tavern is attached. The vineyards cover 15 hectares. They are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Rotgipfler, Neuburger, Riesling, Muskateller, Muskat-Ottonel, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Zierfandler, and with the red varieties Zweigelt, Blauer Portugieser, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent and Cabernet Sauvignon. The most powerful wines of the house are matured in barrique and are sold under the name "Spada" (the Latin "Spada" means "sword" and refers to "swordsman"). Premium wines include St. Laurent Spada, St. Laurent vom Harterberg, Cabernet Sauvignon Spada, Blauer Portugieser Exquisit, Zweigelt Waasn, Zweigelt Vasall and Chardonnay Hammerschossen. White and red Prädikat sweet wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the "Weinforum Thermenregion".
