The winery is located in the municipality of Randersacker (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. The family has been growing grapes in the Maindreieck for 700 years. The Randersacker branch moved to this municipality in the middle of the 16th century. Since 2015, the farm has been run by Markus Schmachtenberger, the 12th generation. The vineyards cover just under nine hectares of vines in the Marsberg and Sonnenstuhl (Randersacker) single vineyard sites. They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Rivaner, Scheurebe, Sauvignon blanc, Bacchus, Kerner, Pinot blanc, Traminer and Rieslaner, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot noir, Domina and Portugieser.
