single vineyard in the municipality of Rüdesheim on the Rüdesheimer Berg in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. It is located between the Berg Schlossberg and Drachenstein vineyards under the Niederwald forest. The granite rocks covered with wild roses, rose hips and sloe hedges, which gave the site its (former) name "Rosenhecke", stand out in the core area. The vineyards were planted as early as 1200 and originally wound their way up the hill in hundreds of small and narrow terraces. It was not until around 1700 that the mule tracks were removed...
