Repair wine

Popular (rather amusing and not scientific) term for a wine drunk between flights of an intensive tasting. This calms (neutralizes) the strained taste and smell nerves and frees them for new impressions. This is particularly recommended after heavy, sweet and/or alcohol-rich wines. After sweet wines an acid accentuated wine is recommended. Some swear by a fresh glass of beer as a "repair wine". See also under wine address, wine evaluation and special wines.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
