Sub-area named after the city of the same name within the Portuguese DOC and Alentejo region (older bottle labels may still show DOC Reguengos). The red and white wines are made from the local grape varieties Aragonez, Manteudo, Moreto, Periquita (Castelão Francês), Perrum, Rabo de Ovelha, Roupeiro and Trincadeira. The most famous wineries are Herdade do Esporão and (owned by Fonseca) José da Sousa.
